This photo was not taken in Madrid, however. I went to Barcelona on the night of Oct 30, 2007 and stayed there for three days. I had so many ``first'' in this dream city, one of which is the first time I have seen the sea. The beach, though not as crowded as I imagined, is still so attractive. The impetus and the serenity of the sea is unpredictable. She touched me in an quite unexpected time before I was going to take the initiative. The naughtiness made me surprised but excited. If it were summer, I wouldn't regret anything to embrace her with my whole body.

Going everywhere by myself is really interesting. I happened to get here when the sun setted. It is really beautiful to see the building gilded with the warm color under the blue sky.

Hola

I am here in Madrid now and I am in my lab reading some papers. I made a little progress in understanding the CV paper my advisor gave me yesterday. I do hope I can make some contribution to the topic he assigned me. It is interesting and related to the topic I have studied last autumn.

Then I came across some optimization problem. I am not sure about the mechanics of the algorithm but luckily I have a book on this topic (I didn't keep it in Beijing when we were required to repack our luggage to avoid the penalty). Then I have to make sure I am familiar with the details of the algorithm.

It seems not too difficult to port the original algorithm to a non-linear style. Luis must have given me a trial to see my research experience. I don't want to disappoint him, and myself :-p

This blog is used to post my thinkings and other affairs in Madrid during the 180 days. Maybe it is mainly English, perhaps later a little Spanish if I get the time to learn sth about it.

Now I return to my reading.
